How is Type1 Diabetes Related to Offspring With Schizophrenia and Autism?

This study does not answer the question as to why offspring with autism and schizophrenia have much more type 1 diabetes in parents and relatives. Both disorders increase in incidence with increasing paternal age in non-familial cases. Maybe type 1 diabetes occurs at an earlier stage of genetic mutation. I'm sure this information is of interest to those who study copy number variations in the various genomic research centers of the world.
